THE DOCTRINE OF THE LAST THINGS AND ITS RELEVANCE FOR AFRICA: A THEOLOGICAL INVESTIGATION WITH SPECIFIC FOCUS ON SPE SALVI

$30

This book, The Doctrine of the Last Things and Its Relevance for Africa: A Theological Investigation with Specific Focus on “Spe Salvi,” is the outcome of an excellent doctoral research in the field of Dogmatic Theology. The author, Rev. Dr. Temba Leopold Luka, a Tanzanian religious priest from the Congregation of Holy Cross, holds a Doctorate in Dogmatic Theology from The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), Kenya. He reminds the reader about the relevance of the virtue of hope in helping Christians in Africa to experience a meaningful life of communion with God. This Doctrine extends partially to the phenomenon of limbo even though not part of the universal salvation of human beings, shows the necessity of baptism for the destiny of children who die in their infancy. It offers a theological foundation for the salvation of the unbaptized infants who experience the beatific vision through God’s mercy. The book also demonstrates how God’s plan of salvation is inclusive of believers and non-believers who through no faults of their own, have not known the Gospel of Christ but nevertheless, they sincerely seek God and strive to fulfil His will through the dictates of conscience.
