https://ajpojournals.org/journals/index.php/ije/article/view/1828

Purpose: The aim of the study was to assess the relationship between social networks and international entrepreneurial ventures in South Africa.

Methodology: This study adopted a desk methodology. A desk study research design is commonly known as secondary data collection. This is basically collecting data from existing resources preferably because of its low cost advantage as compared to a field research. Our current study looked into already published studies and reports as the data was easily accessed through online journals and libraries.

Findings: A study examining the relationship between social networks and international entrepreneurial ventures (IEVs) in South Africa reveals several key findings. Firstly, the research underscores the significance of social networks in facilitating IEVs, particularly through providing access to critical resources such as information, financial capital, and market connections. The study highlights the role of strong ties within social networks, emphasizing how close relationships with family, friends, and business associates serve as crucial support systems for entrepreneurs venturing into international markets. Furthermore, the research elucidates the importance of weak ties in expanding entrepreneurs' networks beyond their immediate circles, allowing for access to diverse perspectives, novel opportunities, and valuable resources. Additionally, the study identifies the influence of institutional factors, such as government policies and regulatory frameworks, on the effectiveness of social networks in facilitating IEVs.

Implications to Theory, Practice and Policy: Social network theory, institutional theory and resource-based view may be use to anchor future studies on assessing the relationship between social networks and international entrepreneurial ventures in South Africa. Offer practical guidance to entrepreneurs on developing effective networking strategies tailored to their internationalization goals. Invest in the development of networking infrastructure such as business incubators, innovation hubs, and networking events to facilitate interactions among entrepreneurs, investors, and industry stakeholders.
Lerato Ndlovu

https://ajpojournals.org/journals/index.php/ije/article/view/1829

Purpose: The aim of the study was to assess the impact of cultural intelligence on international entrepreneurial success.

Findings: Research on the impact of cultural intelligence (CQ) on international entrepreneurial success reveals compelling insights. Cultural intelligence, defined as the ability to adapt and function effectively in culturally diverse settings, significantly influences various facets of entrepreneurial ventures. Entrepreneurs with high levels of CQ demonstrate greater capacity to navigate cross-cultural challenges, negotiate effectively, and build trust with diverse stakeholders, including customers, partners, and employees. They possess a deeper understanding of cultural nuances, enabling them to tailor products, services, and strategies to specific markets, thus enhancing market penetration and competitiveness. Moreover, high CQ entrepreneurs tend to foster stronger networks and partnerships across borders, facilitating access to valuable resources and opportunities. Importantly, cultural intelligence fosters resilience and agility in the face of cultural differences and unexpected challenges, which are inherent in international business environments.

Implications to Theory, Practice and Policy: Social learning theory, cultural distance theory and resource-based view theory may be use to anchor future studies on assessing the impact of cultural intelligence on international entrepreneurial success. Develop and implement tailored cultural intelligence training programs for entrepreneurs and their teams, emphasizing experiential learning, cultural immersion experiences, and cross-cultural communication skills development. Advocate for the integration of cultural intelligence training programs into entrepreneurship education curricula at both secondary and tertiary levels, preparing future entrepreneurs to navigate the complexities of global business environments.
Betty Bigomba

Purpose: The aim of the study was to assess the role of government policies in fostering cross-border entrepreneurship in Pakistan.

Findings: Government policies play a crucial role in fostering cross-border entrepreneurship in Pakistan, as evidenced by recent findings. The research indicates that favorable governmental initiatives, such as streamlined regulatory frameworks, tax incentives, and investment promotion strategies, are essential in facilitating entrepreneurial activities that transcend national borders. These policies not only attract foreign investors but also encourage local entrepreneurs to venture into international markets. Moreover, initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity, such as infrastructure development and digitalization efforts, have been identified as key facilitators of cross-border entrepreneurship. Additionally, the study highlights the significance of diplomatic relations and trade agreements in creating conducive environments for cross-border collaboration and business expansion. https://ajpojournals.org/journals/index.php/ije/article/view/1825

Purpose: The aim of the study was to assess the Influence of technological innovation on global entrepreneurial performance in Kenya.

Findings: The influence of technological innovation on global entrepreneurial performance in Kenya is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon. Research indicates that technological advancements have significantly impacted the entrepreneurial landscape in Kenya, fostering both opportunities and challenges. On one hand, the proliferation of digital technologies has lowered barriers to entry for entrepreneurs, enabling them to reach wider markets, access crucial information, and streamline operations. This has led to a surge in entrepreneurial activities across various sectors, contributing to economic growth and job creation. However, the rapid pace of technological change also poses challenges, such as the digital divide, inadequate infrastructure, and limited access to capital and skills. Moreover, while some entrepreneurs successfully leverage technology to enhance their businesses, others struggle to adapt, leading to disparities in performance. Overall, the findings underscore the pivotal role of technological innovation in shaping the entrepreneurial landscape in Kenya, highlighting the need for supportive policies, infrastructure development, and capacity building initiatives to harness its full potential and foster inclusive growth.

Implications to Theory, Practice and Policy: Resource-based view theory, disruptive innovation theory and dynamic capabilities theory may be use to anchor future studies on assessing the technological innovation on global entrepreneurial performance in Kenya. Entrepreneurs and business leaders should prioritize cultivating a culture of innovation within their organizations, fostering an environment conducive to experimentation, creativity, and risk-taking. Policymakers should strive to create a supportive regulatory environment that incentivizes technological innovation and entrepreneurship.
Benard Mukemba
